An Edmonton woman trying to change laws surrounding drunk driving is getting bounced around thanks to the federal cabinet shuffle.
Sheri Arsenault of "Families for Justice" was promised a one-on-one meeting with the Justice Minister. When Peter Mackay came in as the new minister, that meeting was lost in the switch.
Arsenault has been invited to a roundtable discussion on victims' rights on Thursday here in Edmonton, which she says is a good start.
"Being able to meet the new Justice Minister and for him to get information on myself and Families for Justice is a very good step, and we're happy it's taking place so soon after last week's disappointment."
She'll continue to push for a meeting with the minister. Arsenault wants stiffer penalties for drunk driving offences. Her son was killed by an alleged drunk driver in a crash near Beaumont in 2011. (lk, kdr)
