Concern remains high for Southern Alberta following an flood information session in Calgary Saturday.
The big concern amongst residents is how those choosing to relocate will be compensated by the province. Last weekend the province gave residents in flood areas the option to relocate or rebuild with the funds promised from the disaster recovery program.
MLA Sandra Jansen is assuring residents affected by the flooding that they will be taken care of.
"We're very committed to following through and making sure that we have flood mitigation measures in place for the province, for the City of Calgary, they are going to be acted on and we are fully committed to that, it's going to happen" says Jansen.
One month to the day of the floods many are concerned that the program is designed to restore only essentials and that pricing will be based on average home pricing and not face value. (JSL/QR77)
