Record setting heat wave hits Edmonton

It has never felt hotter in Edmonton than it did today.

The balmy weather touched down on our city with the mercury rising to 33 degrees, but with the humidity it was 43.

Meteorologist Nicola Crosbie explains, the unseasonably warm temperatures are a strong recipe for a future storm.

"Temperatures had to only fall to 22 in order for due to form and this is a big ingredient for storms to form" says Crosbie.

The previous record high for Edmonton on July 2nd was 36.7 degrees back in  1924.  (JSL/BD)
