A 28 year old man is facing 14 charges after a gun complaint, two police chases, and an armed robbery took place Tuesday.
Police got a call about 3 PM from someone who saw a man point a handgun out of a driver's window of a vehicle near 109th street and 68th avenue. Police engaged a suspect in two separate chases along Whyte Avenue before having to pull back for public safety reasons. A short while later, a liquor store was robbed near 75th street and 82nd avenue.
Police picked up the chase near the Capilano Bridge, where a caller told our newsroom, they ditched the cruiser, and went down the river bank on bicycles. The tactical team took a man into custody.
28 year old Cameron Skidmore is charged with pointing a firearm, robbery, criminal flights and other weapon's offences. (eb)
